The summer months are a great time to be outdoors, but it's important to keep your child safe in the sun. Here are some helpful tips to help protect her from sunburn and the negative effects of the sun:

Use sunscreen: Use a sunscreen with a high protection factor (SPF) and a waterproof formula. Apply it in a thick layer to your child's exposed areas such as face, arms, legs. Check and reapply the cream every 2 hours or after contact with water.

Wear protective clothing: Dress your child in light, light-coloured, long clothing made from natural materials that covers as much of the body as possible. Don't forget to wear a hat that protects your face, ears and neck from direct sunlight.

Limit Sun Exposure During Peak Solar Activity: Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak solar hours, when the sun is at its most intense. Try to go outside in the morning or late evening when the sun is not as strong.

Use sunglasses: Provide your child with quality sunglasses with a high level of UV protection. This will help protect her eyes from the harmful effects of the sun.

Repeat Hydration: Keep your child hydrated regularly to avoid exhaustion from heat and sun. Water, natural fruit juices, and light snacks with a high water content are excellent choices.

Find Shade: Look for suitable places for shade, especially under trees, awnings, or umbrellas. This will allow your child to rest from direct sunlight and reduce the risk of burns.
